Other Applications
Natural Gas Purification
Some chemical processes require pure methane as feedstock. Natural gas provided to industry is not pure methane and contain impurities that our process is designed to remove to produce pure methane. Pyro Green-Gas has such purification process in operation with multi-year track record of meeting the requirements of the end user.
Pyrolytic gas purification
Pyrolysis gas composition is directly dependent on the feedstock to the pyrolizer. Our engineers will select the best process chain and operating conditions to provide the optimum valorization of the gas as methane, hydrogen or syn-gas.
The purification technologies are similar to the technologies used for the valorization of coke oven gas.
Syngas purification
Syngas, or synthesis gas, is a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. The gas often contains some carbon dioxide and methane. The purification system we can offer will be selected to respond to the gas composition requirements of the downstream production process.
Hydrogen extraction and purification
Pyro Green-Gas has designed and built hydrogen PSA for the oil and gas industry as well as extraction and purification of hydrogen from coke oven gas in the primary steel industry. Proprietary vacuum pressure swing adsorption and thermal swing adsorption technologies are used for these two hydrogen purification applications.
Coke oven gas purification
Coke-oven gas (COG) is a fuel gas having a medium calorific value that is produced during the manufacture of metallurgical coke by heating bituminous coal to temperatures of 900°C to 1000°C in a chamber from which air is excluded. The main constituents are, by volume, about 50% hydrogen, 30% methane and 3% higher hydrocarbons, 7% carbon monoxide, 3% carbon dioxide and 7% nitrogen.
However as the coal feedstock contains sulfur, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is present in COG and must be removed through desulfurization, prior to the utilization of COG as fuel or the extraction of hydrogen.Pyro Green-Gas uses single use dry media to capture that H2S, such as iron based media or activated carbon.Desulfurization towers are installed in parallel or connected in pairs for Lead/Lag to optimize the life of the desulfurization media.
